Welcoming Spring

Hello,
Thanks for tuning in!  Today I am posting two winners from the March charm collection.  You are also welcome to start posting foods for April.  I am looking for foods related to Spring, and Easter.  Some ideas are candy,  like Cadbury Eggs etc... , foods you enjoy to welcome spring, what you like to eat for Easter dinner perhaps, or even dishes to use up all those hard boiled eggs :)  I really enjoy reading all your suggestions,  and hope you continue to play with me.  P.S.  I am not going to forget about those Asian Noodle dishes.  I want to eventually make a collection for those as well,  and when I do..  If any of them become charms, I will post them on the blog, giving credit to you, and I will ship the charm you inspired to you as a thank you gift.  :)
The Italian Collection (so far) :)

The spaghetti with meatballs was suggested by SweetnessChrissy
I just couldn't have an Italian Collection without spaghetti with meatballs!
This fun charm does does contain (real food) dried and finely chopped parsley.  The sauce also contains just a touch of pepper.
This dish is roughly the size of a dime in diameter

This Cheesy Lasagna was suggested by Bookfreak

I absolutely love lasagna!!!  This lasagna has three layers of noodles, and two layers of ground meats and cheeses.
I certainly hope I did this one justice!  It was a lot of work but fun!  This charm also contains chopped parsley and finely ground pepper.
It is smaller than a dime, but the right proportions to the other charms.

This Fettucini Alfredo is incredibly realistic looking.  as you can see, there is dried and finely chopped parsley in this charm too.

I love the way this little charm came out. He is also roughly the diameter of a dime.

Here is the Cannoli,  it was suggested by Jenna.
It contains a creamy filling with chocolate chips, and is drizzled with chocolate.
She has a great blog that focuses on giveaways.

I am contacting the winners today by email,  if you won, and didn't receive an email please feel free to email me at sweetandsavorytrinkets@yahoo.com

April's Theme:  Easter!  I am looking for any food/candy suggestions that go along with Easter, and Spring.  Perhaps you have a favorite candy, have wonderful dishes for using up those hard boiled eggs, or want to suggest your Easter dinner.

For those of you that are new to the contest, you make food suggestions, that fit in with the given theme.  I will pick at least one of them for the charm of the month club, and inventory in my store.  The prize is the charm you inspired.   For example:  Jenna suggested cannoli for March's theme, since I chose cannoli as part of my March collection, she will be receiving a bitty cannoli in the mail soon.

To enter you make food suggestions in the comment section of the blog.

The Rules:
1:  You can only make one suggestion per day, that allows you multiple entries but many can play :)
2: Read through the suggestions to make sure you aren't duplicating any suggestions already made.

  2. Your items are adorable! I wish I had found your shop when I was ordering desserts for a little display!

Chocolate bunnies with bows on their necks would be cute.

I am following your blog now.

  3. Jelly beans! What would Easter be without jelly beans?

  4. My Grandpa always made a lamb pound cake dusted with powdered sugar for Easter. It had chocolate chips for eyes, and looked something like this:

It would make a really cute charm!

  5. How about the Easter basket cupcakes? You dyed coconut green with food color to usefor the grass.
You take a iced cupcake cover it with the green coconut, add jelly beans on top of the coconut, then take a colored pipe cleaner bend it into place in the cupcake for a handle. My mother made these for our Easter parties at school when we were little. My first thought was Peeps.

  7. I see it's already been mentioned...but I'll second the Peeps idea! They are the first thing I think about when I think of Easter :)
And we always eat ham at Easter as well.

  8. For me, it's not Easter without a tube of Mini Eggs! When I was lil they always used to come in a cardboard tube, although now it's more common to find 'em in a packet.

  10. If you were going for complicated you could make one of those sugar egg dioramas, because everyone really wants to just save them and look at them anyway.

I loved mine as a child...looked at it and imagined for hours.

  13. How about a little basket with tiny jelly beans and maybe a chocolate bunny inside? This would seem crazy-complicated if I hadn't seen the cannoli! Goodness gracious, your work is AMAZING!!

  14. Getting away from the candies a little bit, some decorated Easter eggs would be gorgeous and very seasonal too! They could be simple and bright, like the kind you just dip in a couple colors (http://greenbabyguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/colorful-dyed-easter-eggs.jpg) or complicated like Ukrainian Easter eggs (http://dlibrary.acu.edu.au/research/theology/ejournal/aejt_7/images/ukraineeggs.jpg)

  15. Oooh thought of another one, someone might have suggested this already but I'm a bit out of it so can't read it all x

What about mini hot cross bun charms? I think they'd be quite cute - seasonable too!

  16. When I saw the contest I immediately thought of hot cross buns but I am too late for that.

    How about an Easter Ham?

  18. Bread - since the contest is almost over I am going to sneak several kinds in here. Like Mardi Gras King Cake, Italian Egg Bread, or a Braided Challa Egg Bread.

  19. I'm going to suggest a dinner theme. Ham, mashed potatoes, corn and a roll. Also, I always make my signature dish of 7 layer jello. Green layer, white layer, yellow layer, white layer, orange layer, white layer and a red layer on top. Takes about 3 hours to make, but oh so pretty.
