Macaron Madness
Welcome back!!! I hope you are all doing well!!! Still taking BBQ suggestions till April 15, Here in the comment area.
All charity, and contest info will be provided as usual, at the bottom of the blog.
I discovered The Macaronner on Etsy, and their cookies looked so pretty that I just had to try them.
I purchased a sampler, so I could try a few different flavors. P.S. The larger cookies in all the photos are the real cookies, offered in their shop.
Eric and Nicola are a husband and wife team, and the chefs of these sweet confections. :)
The cookies are extremely delicate. They manage to create cookies that are crisp when you bite into them, but melt in your mouth.
I knew as soon as I saw these little cuties, that I had to make my own version of them (out of clay).
I wouldn't dare try to make the real ones, I will leave that to the experts!
I made them in the six colors shown on the right. They are great pastels for spring. As you can probably tell by the photos, I am making them in two sizes. There larger one are about the size of a quater indiameter, and the smaller ones are about the size of a dime in diameter.
I thought that if you are looking for themed gifts this Spring, it could be fun to give some macarons!
I was thinking of dividing them up, and making miniature Easter baskets. Here is the link in case you wanted to get some real macarons. Maybe 2 or 3 real macarons, along with a couple charms or a neclacke :)
The choclate-peanutbutter were my favorite.
This weekend will be spent making all the spring time charms, then I will be sending out all the April charm winners, and the April club charms out Saturday and Sunday :) After much deliberation, I decided to do the Easter eggs as the April charms. If you are a club member, or have won the club of the month, and prefer the peeps or something else, please let me know.
Monthly Contest
Every month I make new charms for my store, and for the charm of the month club I decided it would be fun, if my readers and customers, had a hand at deciding which charms I make. Every month around the 15th, I post a new theme. You enter the contest by making food suggestions that go with the theme in the comment section of the blog. I will choose at least one suggestion each month for the store, and or charm of the month club. The charm(s) I make from the suggestions are the winners, and the person (people) who made the suggestion(s) gets the charm they suggested as the prize :). The contest ends each month on the 15th... and the new theme is active.
The current theme is BBQ
The Rules:
1: You can only make one suggestion per day, that allows you multiple entries but many can play :)
2: Read through the suggestions to make sure you aren't duplicating any suggestions already made.
Tsunami Fund raiser
I opened a fund raising raffle through Global Giving, on their website. I wanted to find a way for the charity a get the money immediately, and this is a really great solution. It is also tax deductable, and you receive their tax exempt id on your online reciept Here is the link
You guys are amazing, we have already raised 185.00 Thank you!!!!
The prizes are 1 year of the charm of the month club, and 6 months of the charm of the month club. The winners will be announced on the 31st, on the fundraising page, and here on the blog.
Store Charity Donations. I made my first contribution, from the store. I am donating 5% of the item price out of my Etsy store, Artfire store, and Zibbet store. Here is the store donation page so you so track our progress :) I made a 10.00 donation already, and we are 1.90 towards the next donation.

A Fun Find!!!
You will find the contest information, and Earthquake Relief information at the end of this blog.
Lately I have been trying to surround myself with all things food. I searched through dozens of pages on Etsy trying to find food purses. On my search I came across Trask Mountain. Trask Mountain has completely reversable purses, and they are a darling shape!
Anna is the owner of Trask Mountain and is wonderful. I sent her a convo, asking if she could make me food purses. She got back to me with lightening speed, and soon she was bombarded with many photos of food fabrics.
I finally decided, and purchased four fabrics for two purses. You get to see the Cookie purse today, I will show you the other one once I have made the charms for it :)
The details are great, She attached my handles with loops by special request (so I could make charms for them). She can also do matching coin purses by special request, and the bow on the handle is just too cute!!!
Here is the cookie charm I made to match the purse. I had a wonderful experience with Anna, and would highly recommend Task Mountain!
Charity Update: So far the fund raising page has received 185.00. The raffle has two prizes, 3 charms a month for 6 months, and 3 charms a month for 1 year.
Raffle winners can only win one prize, so there will be two winners. There are currently 8 people with raffle tickets. Global Giving is already distributing the money to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund .
I will be making the store contributions through this Global Giving Page soon. I have made a 10.00 donation so far, which is a little more than the 5%. I will keep you updated as it grows.

A Small Price Change
****Update I have a fundraiser through Global Giving, to aid the Japanese Tsunami victims. It is a raffle, for every dollar you donate, you get a raffle ticket. On the 31st this month, I will randomly draw the winner. The winner will receive 3 charms a month, for a full year! Please help

I have noticed that there have been many natural disasters recently. I am always compelled to help, but I haven't always had the means to help monetarily. I decided to make it a part of business. Over the next couple of days, I will be raising my prices by .20 cents each. For every item sold in my shop, that .20 cents will be distributed once a month to disaster relief around the world. On my blog, I will let you know how much was donated, and what organization it went to. I will also keep a running total of how much was donated total, on an ongoing basis, so as time goes by we can see the differences that that .20 cents per item can make..
To kick start a donation, I am selling this purse on Etsy, I will send the full 40.00 to Red Cross, for Tsunami Relief. Here is the link to the listing, and a photo of the purse

Spring Fever
I have certainly been having fun looking at your suggestions. I have already stared making some of April's charms. I will continue taking suggestions till the 15th, but I wanted to share the charms I have already made, and announce a couple of winners. I will probably have more winners shortly after the 15th. So check back, and keep making those suggestions
SweetnessC, and Memories for life scrapbooks both suggested Peeps.
Here are my little renditions of the marshmallow snack. These little guys are quite cute.
Kara suggested dyed Easter eggs. I made them in 6 colors.
I am actually very pleased with how they have turned out!
These babies are my own brain child, I have been meaning to do these for a long time :)
I LOVE deviled eggs. They are soooo tasty!
I have already made myself a little pair of earrings, and have been wearing them out :)
I hope you all are enjoying the new charms that I have been releasing. I haven't decided which ones are going in the charm of the month yet club yet.
I am also going to be making more April charms as well. The 15th will be the cut off for the April suggestions.
In the next blog, I will be doing something a little different, and sharing something I found on Etsy. I found some new inspiration, and plan on sharing this wonderful seller with you all. The new charms will be perfect colors for April too, so tune in next week. I will have the remaining winners listed around the 20th:)
Good luck everyone!!!
Here is the link to my shop in case you want to see more images of the new charms.
