Spring Fever

I have certainly been having fun looking at your suggestions.  I have already stared making some of April's charms.  I will continue taking suggestions till the 15th,  but I wanted to share the charms I have already made, and announce a couple of winners.  I will probably have more winners shortly after the 15th.  So check back, and keep making those suggestions

SweetnessC, and Memories for life scrapbooks both suggested  Peeps.

Here are my little renditions of the marshmallow snack.   These little guys are quite cute.

Kara suggested dyed Easter eggs.  I made them in 6 colors.

I am actually very pleased with how they have turned out!

These babies are my own brain child,  I have been meaning to do these for a long time :)

I LOVE deviled eggs.  They are soooo tasty!
I have already made myself a little pair of earrings, and have been wearing them out :)

I hope you all are enjoying the new charms that I have been releasing.  I haven't decided which ones are going in the charm of the month yet club yet.

I am also going to be making more April charms as well.  The 15th will be the cut off for the April suggestions.

In the next blog, I will be doing something a little different, and sharing something I found on Etsy.   I found some new inspiration, and plan on sharing this wonderful seller with you all.  The new charms will be perfect colors for April too, so tune in next week.  I will have the remaining winners listed around the 20th:)

Good luck everyone!!!
Here is the link to my shop in case you want to see more images of the new charms.

Welcoming Spring

Hello,
Thanks for tuning in!  Today I am posting two winners from the March charm collection.  You are also welcome to start posting foods for April.  I am looking for foods related to Spring, and Easter.  Some ideas are candy,  like Cadbury Eggs etc... , foods you enjoy to welcome spring, what you like to eat for Easter dinner perhaps, or even dishes to use up all those hard boiled eggs :)  I really enjoy reading all your suggestions,  and hope you continue to play with me.  P.S.  I am not going to forget about those Asian Noodle dishes.  I want to eventually make a collection for those as well,  and when I do..  If any of them become charms, I will post them on the blog, giving credit to you, and I will ship the charm you inspired to you as a thank you gift.  :)
The Italian Collection (so far) :)

The spaghetti with meatballs was suggested by SweetnessChrissy
I just couldn't have an Italian Collection without spaghetti with meatballs!
This fun charm does does contain (real food) dried and finely chopped parsley.  The sauce also contains just a touch of pepper.
This dish is roughly the size of a dime in diameter

This Cheesy Lasagna was suggested by Bookfreak

I absolutely love lasagna!!!  This lasagna has three layers of noodles, and two layers of ground meats and cheeses.
I certainly hope I did this one justice!  It was a lot of work but fun!  This charm also contains chopped parsley and finely ground pepper.
It is smaller than a dime, but the right proportions to the other charms.

This Fettucini Alfredo is incredibly realistic looking.  as you can see, there is dried and finely chopped parsley in this charm too.

I love the way this little charm came out. He is also roughly the diameter of a dime.

Here is the Cannoli,  it was suggested by Jenna.
It contains a creamy filling with chocolate chips, and is drizzled with chocolate.
She has a great blog that focuses on giveaways.

I am contacting the winners today by email,  if you won, and didn't receive an email please feel free to email me at sweetandsavorytrinkets@yahoo.com

April's Theme:  Easter!  I am looking for any food/candy suggestions that go along with Easter, and Spring.  Perhaps you have a favorite candy, have wonderful dishes for using up those hard boiled eggs, or want to suggest your Easter dinner.

For those of you that are new to the contest, you make food suggestions, that fit in with the given theme.  I will pick at least one of them for the charm of the month club, and inventory in my store.  The prize is the charm you inspired.   For example:  Jenna suggested cannoli for March's theme, since I chose cannoli as part of my March collection, she will be receiving a bitty cannoli in the mail soon.

To enter you make food suggestions in the comment section of the blog.

The Rules:
1:  You can only make one suggestion per day, that allows you multiple entries but many can play :)
2: Read through the suggestions to make sure you aren't duplicating any suggestions already made.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Hello everyone!
First I really want to thank you all for the wonderful suggestions!!! I have really enjoyed looking at the links you have provided, and searching for images of your food suggestions.  Today I will announce one winner for March, and show you March's first charm.  There will be at least one more winner for March, so make sure to check back next Monday.  Today is the last day to make suggestions for March's theme,  and you can also start marking suggestions today for April's theme, which will be announced towards the end of the blog.

The first winner of the Italian themed charms, is Jenna Wood.  I must admit I hadn't even considered cannoli, and when I saw her suggestion, I knew I had to make some!  The local pizza shop I frequent "Pedones", has amazing cannoli,  the creamy filling is light, and almost fluffy, and the tiny chocolate chips melt in your mouth despite being cold.  I don't know how they do it.  My pizza place doesn't add the chocolate drizzle, but I just couldn't resist.
Thank you for the wonderful suggestion Jenna!
There is still time to make last minute suggestions for March's Italian theme!  I will start on the rest of the charms tomorrow. The other winner or winners as the case may be will be announced next Monday!

April's Theme:  Easter!  I am looking for any food/candy suggestions that go along with Easter.  Perhaps you have a favorite candy, have wonderful dishes for using up those hard boiled eggs, or want to suggest your Easter dinner.

Monthly Charm Contest (starts today)

Okey Dokey...   Up for a different kind of contest????
If you were tuned in.. for the last couple of blogs you know that I have a charm of the month club.  I thought it would be fun for one charm each month be inspired by one of you.   First a background story..
The wonderful Cuban food collection in this blog today, was inspired by Joanna, an amazing woman who collaborated with me in the creation of these charms.  She sent me lots of amazing photos, of food that I never even tasted before.

I am very pleased by the results, and thought it how horrible it would have been if Joanna had never asked me if I could make them.   So it hit me today  why not make a fun contest where each month there will be a winner.

Here is how it will work.  Every month I make at least 3 new charms, for the charm of the month club.  I will choose the topic.   To enter all you do is make suggestions for what foods go along with that topic, in the comment section.

I will post the topic around the 15th every month, for a full month out.  The end date for the contest each month will be the following 15th (when the new topic begins).

So here goes

March is National Noodle Month:  who knew right?

The topic is noodles :)  Italian themed dishes, as long as they are Italian you can branch outside of noodle dishes.

All you have to do is leave a comment at the end of this blog with your idea.
The prize will be the charm you inspired :)

The Rules:
1: I want a multiple winners throughout the year, so if you won one month..  take a break for one month.

2: Read through the comments to make sure your dish hasn't already been suggested.

3: One suggestion per day max.. This allows you 28-30 entries but will allow many people to play :)
That is it!!

Sucking up may help...  I really do depend on photos of real food when making my tiny dishes.  The comment section doesn't allow for photos.  I will provide a link to my etsy store.  If you hit "convo"  you can load up to 3 pictures of your own, or off the net.

I will google search images from your suggestions, but if you find a really great photo I would love to see it.

A little suggestion.... I am already thinking of basic Lasagna, ravioli and Spaghetti so those suggestions wouldn't win, but if you have different variations on these dishes you can enter them ..  Be creative and have fun!  I am interested in something that is connected to our theme...  but a little bit out of the ordinary, special or clever.

P.S.  I know you all will have great suggestion.s.. If I choose to do more than one, for the month or regular stock for my store you both will get your inspired charms as a thank you gift.

Have fun,  I am really excited and hope you play with me.

Contest Day!!!

Hello, and welcome back to my blog!  Thank you all so much for the kind comments. Here we go, I hope you all enjoy the contest.  If it goes well, I will do a few contests a year.  Good Luck!!!

Answering the questions:  I will ask three questions...  along with each question will be a description of the prize for that question, and a photo just for fun.  Remember that the (first correct) answer for each question wins it's corresponding prize.  To answer, leave your answer in the comment section.  state the question #, followed by your answer.
The Rules,  Okay I don't like rules either, but I need to have a couple so here goes.
1. There is only one prize per person.  Please answer only one question.  If you posted a wrong answer, then you can answer one of the other questions.  I will check in before 9:00 A.M. to verify answers at that point, then again in the afternoon.  I know this rule could be a little annoying, but I want to make sure that one person doesn't  spoil the answer by answering multiple questions correctly.
2. You must follow my blog
P.S. Before answering you may wish to view the comments to make make sure you aren't answering something that someone has already answered correctly.  I will make sure to leave updates in the comment section when I check in to let you know which questions have already been answered correctly.
That is it.

Question 1 Prize:  One year charm of the month club membership.  The winner will receive at least three charms made especially for the following month, for a full year. Here is a picture for February's charms of the month.
Question #1: In the cartoon "The Last Unicorn"  right after being tied up by bandits, what falls in love with  Schmindrick?
Sorry this question is hard, but I love this old movie :)
If nobody guesses this right by Tonight, I will ask an easier question
Question #2 Prize: 6 Months membership in the charm of the month club.  The winner will receive at least three charms every of for 6 months.  you may have noticed the there are five charms in the February photo.....  Club members will actually receive five charms this coming month.

Question #2:  In "Gone With The Wind"  Who delivers Melanie's Baby?

Question #3 Prize:  $25.00 worth of merchandise from my store.    The donuts are just fun items from my store....  You can go to my Etsy shop, and choose your favorite charms totaling up to $25.00

Question #3:  In "Sleepless In Seattle"  They reference another classic movie, and the whole story line touches aspects of that classic movie throughout.  What is this Classic movie they refer to?
Good Luck!!!!

Happy New Years!!!!!

Happy New Years!!!

My contest questions will be posted the 15th of January.  I will leave the instructions for answering the questions on the 15th.

I am happy to present the January charms of the month.  They are inspired by New Year resolutions.  I know that I always intend to eat healthier every year.   I have chosen to do a veggie platter, a fruit platter, and a cobb salad for the January charms.    I am including the photos below.
The veggie platter includes yellow and green bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, carrot sticks, celery stick, zuchini, and ranch dressing.  This was a very time consumming little guy!!  He was fun to make though
My fruit platter has slices of orange, kiwi, banana, and strawberry.

Here is my cobb salad.  It is a bed of lettuce on a platter, topped with tomato, turkey, bacon, avacado, cheese, and a slice of boiled egg.

I am thinking of doing one photo tutorial a month.  I would do a tutorial of one charm of the month.  If you would like this, vote on which one you would like to see the tutorial of by leaving a response in the comment section of  the blog.

Thank you!!!
